•Common Name: (Resveratrol) Japanese Knotweed
•Latin Name: Fallopia japonica
•Product Type: Extract Capsule
General Information:
Resveratrol is considered to act just like antioxidants in the body. It is associated with compounds called polyphenols. It is mostly associated with being found in the skin of red grapes, but is found in many other plants, as well.
History:
This compound was first isolated by Michio Takaoka in Japan (1940). He found the compound located in the white hellebore, which was considered “a poisonous, medicinal plant.” Now the compound is isolated from many different innocuous plants. Peanuts, Japanese Knotweed, and berries, to name a few.
