Cordyceps is a fungus initially discovered on caterpillars in high mountainous regions of China. It is used for a variety of reasons, from addressing chronic coughing and other respiratory issues to strengthening the immune system. Cordyceps has antioxidant properties that protect cell membranes from the damage caused by free-radical molecules created during the oxidation process as the body turns food into energy.
