Akuamma seeds have a rich history across the continent of Africa. The seeds originate from the Akuamma tree (Picralima nitida) and contain “akuammine” as its most present alkaloid. Akuammine is an indole alkaloid also known as vincamajoridine, which is structurally related to yohimbine and mitragynine.
