General Information:  
Lavender is a member of the mint family.  It is a powerfully aromatic herb that has many flavonoids, coumarins, tannins, and other plant oils.  The intense blue lavender is a bit more medicinally fragrant due to the presence of trace amounts of camphor in this variety.

History:

The use of lavender by humans goes back thousands of years.  Egyptians were said to use it in mummification rituals and was used as natural perfume.  There were even traces of ancient lavender found inside of the excavated tombs.  

Uses: 
-Herbal Tea. The aroma and flavor of this herb make for a great relaxing cup of tea.

-Spice for culinary dishes.  Use sparingly as this herb has a strong aroma and flavor.

-Infuse into waters/oils for aromatherapy purposes
