Yerba Mate - Organic Green (Ilex paraguariensis)

We use one hundred percent certified organic Yerba Mate, responsibly grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizers, preserving the environment and our future.

We DO NOT age our Yerba Mate as is the norm in the USA. Cultural Traditions in Paraguay, Argentina and Uruguay dictate that the mate be aged for 1-2 years. In Brazil, however, fresh is the name of the game. We prefer this practice, as it preserves the life-giving nutrients and crisp, green taste.

We dry our mate using a low-heat, smoke-free process that maintains the natural flavors and colors and protects the natural enzymes that make mate desirable.

Mate, first enjoyed by indigenous tribes in South America, is an invigorating substance that maintains energy and life force. Mate rituals were considered sacred and provided an opportunity for people to bond and establish connections within their communities. It is this spirit that we strive to maintain with our mate. It is fresh, potent, and delivers the grassy, earthy taste that mate should have. In a marketplace flooded with faux ‘mate teas’, this is the genuine article. Phytoextractum makes a point of bringing the very best to the marketplace and to our customers. Try our mate. You will not be disappointed.
