Made from organically grown Salvia leaf (containing the neoclerodane diterpenoid Salvinorin A), we use an organic, ethanol-only extraction process to produce an outstandingly effective Salvia Divinorum extract with sixty times the diterpenoid content of the whole, dried leaf.
Although the Mazatec Indians have been familiar with Salvia Divinorum for centuries, their use of this plant was concentrated only in a small area in the Oaxacan Mountains and wasn't known outside of this extremely limited area until an expedition in 1962 led by Gordon Wasson and Albert Hoffman.
A perennial herb in the Labiatae family (sometimes called the mint family), Salvia Divinorum is one in roughly 2,000 species of sage and grows wild only in the Sierra Mazatec region of Mexico. This plant is being grown in other parts of the world as well.
