Salvia bowelyana; Salvia, Salvia przewalskii; Salvia przewalskii mandarinorum, and Salvia yunnanensis. Dan refers to the mineral elixir cinnabar, which has a color similar to that of the root; shen is the same term used to describe ginseng.
