Diplopterys cabrerana - (Chaliponga, Chagropanga)

Our Chaliponga is harvested fresh and shipped directly from Peru.

Diplopterys cabrerana (formerly known as Banisteriopsis rusbyana) is a South American rainforest vine, commonly known as Chaliponga, Chagropanga and, in parts of Ecuador, Chacruna (a name most often referring to Psychotria viridis). It is found in the Amazonian lowlands of Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.

Chaliponga is a species of liana, or a rainforest vine, native to the countries of the South American continent. It is a tropical plant which possesses distinct and striking resemblance to Banisteriopsis caapi.  Although chaliponga is already widely cultivated, the plant is still found in the wild in some specific areas of countries such as Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, and Colombia.
