Also known as Wild Dagga or Lion's Ear, Leonotis nepetaefolia is a robust shrub which grows up to 2-3 meters tall and 1.5m wide. It is commonly widespread throughout South Africa (Eastern and Western Cape Provinces, Kwazulu-Natal and Mpumalanga) and found amongst the rocks in grasslands.
The active component in Klip Dagga is leonurine, the same alkaloid that can be found in Leonurus sibiricus.
