DESCRIPTION

Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) is a South American tree related to frankincense, myrrh and copal trees. Palo Santo means “Holy Wood” in Spanish.

Palo Santo (holy wood) is a tree indigenous to Mexico and Central America. It has been used for thousands of years as an incense in ceremonies and for personal fulfillment. The wood itself is considered sacred in many parts of the world, and its use is widespread.

The smoke has a pleasing smell, with hints of fir, mint and citrus.

Palo Santo is said to expand creativity and help prepare and calm the mind for meditation, yoga and tai chi exercises or just create a feeling of mindful relaxation.

In traditional South American medicine, Palo Alto was used to treat stress, headaches, colds and flu, inflammation, anxious feelings and to improve mood. As a tea, it was used to provide support to the immune system.

Unlike other Palo Santo sticks, which appear almost factory-cut, our Palo Santo sticks more closely resemble natural logs. Therefore, they vary greatly in size and weight. On average, however, they are about 4-8" in length and weigh around 100 grams (3.5 ounces). Depending on the size you order, you may receive anywhere from one to six logs.
